The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Gombe branch has declared its “unflinching support” for the State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya on all actions and steps taken so far on Tangale Chieftaincy tussle.
In a statement after its emergency meeting in Gombe, the Association says it is within the powers of the governor to appoint any of the 3 recommended contestants as new Mai Tangle irrespective of any number scored at the kingmakers recommendation.
It called on the governor to the powers to announce and declare who among the 3 recommended contestants as the new Mai without fear or favour.
The Association said it strongly condemned the attacks, killings, maiming and destruction of properties during the violence.
It therefore wants the Government to bring to book all those connected with the violence and also compensate victims of the crisis.
