Bababa Plaza Inferno: Gov. Bala Visits Scene …To Equip Bauchi Firefighters

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has described the fire incident at Bababa Plaza as a clarion call on his Administration to equip Bauchi Fire Service with the right working tools.

The Governor stated this when he visited the scene of the flames on Saturday to sympathise with the traders affected by the disaster.

He said that Bauchi State Government will strengthen the capacity of firefighters in the state for effective service delivery to the people.

“I regret all inconveniences and the lost that occurred here and it has come as a wake up call to us as government.

“The Fire Service is not working in tandem with my vision for a new Bauchi State and I want to assure you that we will take proactive measures to overcome the challenges,” the Governor said.

Governor Bala expressed shock on the degree of damage the inferno caused pledging that the state government will take the engineering estimate of the affected building for immediate reconstruction.

He said that traders affected will be the first batch of beneficiaries to benefit from the state government’s plans for business persons in the state calling on all spirited individuals to support the victims with assistance.
