Investigation by Nagarta radio correspondent on public works and transport, Andrew Ibrahim Mshelia shows that multi-billion-naira contracts awarded by previous administrations in Kaduna State have not been completed and monies released were yet to be accounted for.

Some of the road projects for which contracts were awarded are in Zaria, Chikun, Giwa, Sangal, Sabon Gari, Igabi, Kafancha, Jaba, kaura, , Zango Kataf and Ikara local government areas  and, by all indications, the projects have been abandoned.

This has left motorists, farmers and residents in these areas, especially those with health challenges, to lament the situation.

Investigation revealed that the contracts were awarded during the Tadministration of Governor Ramalan Yaro in 2014.

Andrew Ibrahim Mshelia has details of this investigative report.

This report was done with the support of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the International Centre for Investigative Reporting. Its was aired on Nagarta Radio on 30 December 2020
