The Zaria Zonal Pastor of the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria, CEFN, Rev Emmanuel Abuh has reminded Christians of the need to celebrate Christmas with modesty.
This is with a view to facing squarely, recurrent economic challenges thereafter, which include payment of children’s school fees and house rents.
The issue of buying new clothes or children’s wear , during the yuletide, he added, should be secondary and not allowed to tear homes apart as the celebration is not a do or die affair.
Rev. Abuh gave the advice in a sermon at the Fellowship Zonal Headquarters Church Kakuri Kaduna , Northwest Nigeria on Sunday, preparatory to the Yuletide.
He emphasised that any celebration that does not bring honour and glory to God, shame and disgrace would be the result. “Whatever one does or planning to do, let it be to the glory of God” , quoting 1st Corinthians 10 :31.
The Zonal Pastor whose message centred
on “Develop Critical Mind” told the congregation that time has also come for them to sit down and re-examine their critical mind on whether they are alive in Christ..
“Be tough in your faith and keep going”, he emphasised.
Rev”d Abuh prayed for peaceful celebration as well as journey mercies for those traveling during the Yuletide.
