Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has described the defeat suffered by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded State Assembly bye election in Dass Constituency as a will of God.
Governor Bala in statement on Sunday by his Special Assistant on New Media Lawal Mu’azu, said his government accepted the defeat with dignity and sportsmanship to avoid over heating the polity at this material time.
The Governor calls for unity among his cabinet and party members, describing the defeat as a “temporary setback” as it will came to pass.
The Governor recalled that his party, the PDP, lost 21 State Assembly seats and 3 Senatorial seats in 2019 General Elections in Bauchi State, but Allah rewarded the party with a victory at the gubernatorial election.
He urged party stalwarts and cabinet members not to subscribe to fruitless blame game, internal rancor, accusations and mistrust in their calculated attempts to play to the gallery.
He said as warriors, his administration and the party have to plan to regain their lost ground with chivalry, tactics and team work.
Governor Bala thanked members of the PDP for their support and contributions, adding that “the defeat is a lesson for all of us, but no one is to be blame.”
The Dass Assembly bye-election saw candidate of the APC, Hon. Bala Ali Lukshi defeating his PDP rival, Hon. Lawal Wandi.
