A stakeholder in Southern Kaduna, Emmanuel Christopher Magayaki has condemned the killings in the area and called on political and religious leaders, traditional rulers, concerned and patriotic citizens as well as peace lovers to come together to proffer genuine and lasting solutions to the incessant killings.
To this end, Magayaki wants the leaders to urgently facilitate a dialogue between warring factions, as well as, apprehend perpetrators causing the crisis to serve as deterrent to others.
A statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria, Magayaki expressed concern over the lingering crisis in the area saying that the attacks should be properly looked into to unravel the root cause, intentions and motives behind the urgly situation.
Magayaki noted that Southern Kaduna has suffered in the hands of wicked and evil interests and also called on the Federal and state governments to do more to bring a lasting solution to the crisis.
“Peaceful dialogue/discussions among the people should be facilitated in earnest for lasting peace.
“Traditional rulers, religious leaders, lovers of peace, as well as, other stakeholders, should be concerned, and join hands with government .
“Let the people of southern Kaduna come out with resolutions, even though it may vary, but the state government should accept the decisions of the people.
*Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state should uphold his pledge recently made to religious leaders to implement recommendations from the dialogue/discussion among the ethnic groups in the region.
“The Government should come out with a white paper on agreed resolutions from the dialogue”‘ .
Southern kaduna, he said, cannot be turned into a killing field or left in the hands of murderous gang describing as unfortunate, the silence and uncomplimentary comments by some leaders within and outside the region that have fuelled the barbaric killings that are almost becoming genocide.
