Nigeria: Provide Interest Free Loan To Marketers – Ashiru

Former Gubernatorial Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna state, Northwest Nigeria, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Ashiru has advised the State Government to provide interest free loans to marketers with a two year moratorium.
He also advised the government to reopen major markets across the state to ease the economic hardship being faced by the marketers during this lockdown.
Alhaji Isa Ashiru gave the advice during a live interactive session held in Kaduna.
He maintained that if Friday Mosques and Churches on Sunday were opened, government should also adopt the same method of COVID-19 protocol to reopen the major markets in the state.
Alhaji Isa Ashiru reminded the government that some perishable goods already expired at those markets which are economically lost to the marketers and might be health hazard if consumed by the people.
He however, commended  the government efforts in addressing the spread of Coronavirus and appealed to people to continue to observe the protocols giving by the health professionals in order to remain free from the pandemic.
On the issue of security, Alhaji Isa Ashiru lamented that every government that failed to provide security of lives and property has failed its mandate.
He advised the government to adopt the policies of former Governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Makarfi by involving traditional institution on the matter of security of the state.
He attributed the insecurity in the North to the high level of unemployment and poverty and called on security and relevant stakeholders to adopt a meeting strategy in order to address the insecurity bedeviling the region.
At the end, he appealed to people of Kaduna state to remain peaceful and law abiding citizens for socio-economic development of the state.
