Arewa Youth Coalition (AYC) has described those linking Senate President Ahmad Lawan with the ongoing N-Power recruitment as mischief makers and political blackmailers.

The group made its position known in a statement shortly after its emergency meeting in Kaduna, northern Nigeria.

The statement which was signed by the President of the Group Comrade Mukhtar Muhammad said those behind the allegations were only out to smear Senator Lawan’s good reputation.

“Sanator Lawan is a man of integrity and would never involve himself in such a shoddy deal of receiving N-power slots because the Senate President is a man of integrity and not only representing his federal constituent, but representing Nigeria as a whole by virtue of the office he currently occupied,” he said.

The group then warned those they termed as political enemies of progress to desist from their political blackmailing and allow the senate president to continue with his good works of moving Nigeria to the next level.

Comrade mukthar also asked Sahara reporters online to apologise to Senate President Lawan for linking him with the N-Power programme.
