Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, Tuesday led top Government functionaries including former Governor Kashim Shettima, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, State APC Chairman Ali Bukar Dalori and few members of the State Executive Council on a visit to the Shehu’s palace on condolence.
Shehu of Bama, Kyari Ibn Umar Elkanemi, died on Monday after a brief illness.
Chief Imam of Borno, Zannah Laisu, moderated a brief prayer session for the repose of the soul of the late Shehu.
Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, received the Governor. Also present, were the Shehu of Dikwa, Mohammed Masta II Elkanemi, and some members of the emirate council.
Speaking to journalists after the condolence, Governor Zulum described late Shehu Kyari as diligent and a servant leader.
Zulum noted that the demise of Shehu Kyari was not only a loss to the Elkanemi family, but to the entire State.
The Governor prayed for Allah to forgive the late Shehu and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
