Date:

Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara is to present a paper on the state’s economic development roadmap at the 2019 United Nations General Assembly Africa Investment Forum in New York.

This is contained in a statement signed by Yusuf Idris, the Director-General, Press Affairs to the Governor and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Saturday.

Idris said the governor will introduce Zamfara to world investors at the forum, especially its large deposits of gold and other mineral resources and the need for economic partnership with the state.

He said the theme of the paper would be “The Investment Climate and Market of Zamfara State: Opportunities for International Investment Partnerships”.

According to Idris, the governor will highlight Zamfara State’s major growth pole in Sub Sahara Africa and its capacity to manage the increased capacity flows across the state’s major sectors of the economy.

He said the Governor is also expected to hold a two-day meeting with multilateral financial institutions in the United Kingdom between Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.

“This is to fashion out how to invest in the state sectors of infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare, industrialisation, empowerment and innovation,” he said.

He said the Governor was accompanied by the state Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe; Chief of Staff, Col Bala Mande (Rtd); Special Adviser on Solid Minerals Development, Dr Nura Isah and Sen.Lawali Hassan Daniya.

According to Idris, the team is expected back in Nigeria on Sept.28
