The new General Overseer of the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria, (CEFN) Rev. Dr. David Bala Usman says he has come with ideas and objectives to accomplish during his tenure.
Rev Usman made the declaration on Sunday 01/09 2019 while addressing a congregation of the Zaria Zone of the Fellowship’s Headquarters Church, Kakuri, Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria.
The General Overseer who was on a familiarisation visit to the Zone since assumption of office in April 2019, describes himself as only an arrow head and a facilitator in the task of the mission which would be executed collectively.
He told the congregation that the tour was meant to share his vision and seek their cooperation and prayers with a view to accomplishing them within his tenure.
Rev. Usman therefore outlined the goals of the Ministry to include Salvation, Sanctification, Selfless service, Sacrificial giving, Victorious Christian living, Unity of members and Uniformity of practices. Others are Closing Communication Gap, Projects execution, Drawing CEFN members in the Diaspora and Patronage of CEFN establishments.
He charged members to adopt personal evangelism, evangelistic outreaches and open air crusades to win more souls for Christ.
“All levels of the church, should evangelize to preach for salvation of souls. “Let’s intensify our efforts in generalizing the church to go beyond Igala land” he advised.
Turning to the pastors, Rev. Usman said their mandate should be to preach holiness while emphasising on spiritual salvation to live a holy live through rival programmes.
On sacrificial giving, the G .O enjoined members to ensure that ministers’ welfare should continue to be their priority.
“Our sacrificial giving habit will kill our poverty culture by the Grace of God. “He prayed.
Describing Life as a battle, Rev Usman reminds the congregation that they do not war by human made Weapon, but by prayers, advising that every Church is a Prayer house.
The General Overseer notes that what some people go outside to pay for is right within them, hence the need for members to encourage their Ministers to organize vigils, fasting prayers, healing and deliverance programmes right in their church sanctuary.
He said the Mission shall try to as much as possible to remain uniform in their practices, Bible based or spiritually discerned or practically edifying.
On projects, Rev. Usman noted that the Fellowship headquarters had been littered with uncompleted projects, promising to pursue their completion before embarking on new ones.
He also spoke of the need for Fellowship members in the Diaspora, who for one reason or the other, are now worshipping or ministering in other churches to remember their home or towns of birth.
Accompanied on the visit by his wife. Martha and the Administrative Secretary of the Mission, Rev. Joseph Ahiaba, the General Overseer lauded the development projects at the Zonal Headquarters Church, Kakuri.
The Zaria Zone of the Mission which is headed by Rev. Emmanuel Abuh, comprises
Seven Churches in Unguwan Yelwa, U/Romi, Gonin Gora, Sabon Gaya, Trikania and Kakuri, the headquarters, as well as Zaria.
