Following his Clearance for the much awaited Gubernatorial Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi State come Sept 3, 2019, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Surv. Emmanuel Ogbe Omebije has not only become a beautiful bride among his co-contestants, but a rallying point.
This might not be unconnected with his pedigree and rising political profile coupled with his promise to provide a true and viable social democratic system with an inclusive style of governance devoid of tribal or sectional consideration.
This is with a view to decisively deal with all socio-economic vices bedeviling the State.
Already, Hon. Omebije’s Abuja residence has become a ‘must visit’ for would be delegates to the primaries as well as political stalwarts from across the State since he received his Clearance Certificate from the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus.
Speaking with newsmen on this development, on Sunday, Omebije said the show of solidarity was a demonstration of the support he enjoyed at the grassroot.
“As you can see, I have dwarfed other contestants to hoist PDP’s umbrella to provide shelter for Kogites after years of directionless governance in the State.
“The privilege of being a two time member of the Kogi State House of Assembly for the fourth and fifth legislative session spanning the years 2007- 2015 has solidified my contact in all the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State”, Omebije remarked.
The Gubernatorial Aspirant said the advice by the National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus warning contestants against relying on party leaders for the ticket was a welcome development to prevent imposition of candidate.
Omebije who continues to gladiate politically, reaffirmed that “A Better Kogi is Possible should there be service above self, people/purpose driven performance and community based development among others, which he said , are his focus.
The Aspirant said his avowed commitment to making Kogi State occupy its rightful place in the comity of States is unshakable.
