Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has directed all district heads to celebrate traditional Hawan Daushe in their respective emirates.

The government gave the directive in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, in Kano on Sunday.

“Against some calls circulating in the social media that all district heads were directed to attend Hawan Daushe at Kano emir’s palace, the Kano State Government has directed all Hakimai to attend Hawan Daushe at their respective emirates,” Anwar said.

He said district heads from Bichi Emirate should attend their Hawan Daushe with the First Class Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, while those from Rano Emirate should attend Hawan Daushe with their First Class Emir, Alhaji Dr Tafida Abubakar.

“All district heads from Karaye Emirate should attend Hawan Daushe with their First Class Emir, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II, all district heads from Gaya Emirate should attend Hawan Daushe with their First Class Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir.

“And those district heads from Kano Emirate are also directed to attend Hawan Daushe with their First Class Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II,” Anwar added.‎

The government wished all Muslims peaceful and prosperous Eid-el-Kabir elebration/

Traditional Hawan Daushe Durbar ‎is usually observed a day after the Eid el Fitr celebration and Eid-el-Kabir day which sees the Emir riding on horseback receiving homage from all the district heads in the emirate.‎

‎On June 5, during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the governor cancelled the annual traditional Sallah durbar, Hawan Nassarawa, citing security reasons. (NAN)
