Nigeria: We ‘ll Articulate Economic Development, Political Agenda For Igala Nation – Group

Kaduna, Capital of the defunct Northern Region of Nigeria on Saturday, July 20, 2019 witnessed an assemblage of great sons and daughters of Igala/Bassa from within and outside the State.

The occasion was the Inauguration of the Kaduna Chapter of Ukomu Igala Organization, a socio- cultural body which serves as the common voice of the people.

Being led under the nomenclature of National Leader, Comptroller Abdul Amade (rtd) to join the queue in order of leadership that began from Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim SAN,  Justice Dan ABUTU (rtd), Victor Alewo Adoji and the immediate past, General Patrick Akpa (rtd,) who were given a Pat on the back for their selfless service to the land.

At the Inauguration of Kaduna Chapter,  were who is who among the illustrious sons and daughters of the land , including Potential Excellencies, retired military officers, legal luminaries, the clergy, business tycoons, town unions and youth organizations.

Also at hand to grace the event, were officials of the Ukomu Igala from Kogi and Plateau States.

Addressing the gathering, the National Leader, Abdul Amade spoke of the commitment of Ukomu Igala to providing moral leadership on behalf of the entire Igala Nation and be their voice on all national issues.

It will also articulate moral, economic, developmental and political agenda for the Igala Nation, forster the spirit of love, brotherhood and togetherness and participate in any social activity that is aimed at promoting unity among the people.

Other objectives enumerated by the National Leader are, to promote the socio -cultural, linguistic, economic and educational advancement of the people and encourage the development of Igala language and literature, to promote a mindset of hard work towards achieving a common goal of even development of the land by encouraging communal self-help efforts.

To identify, compile and present to Igala political leadership, and the State and Federal Governments of Nigeria, from time to time, a moral agenda for the development of Igala land.

Development of infrastructure in Igala land, including the promotion and exploitation of Natural resources and Agriculture is also among the objectives of Ukomu.

Comptroller Amade therefore enjoined the new State executives to be ready to offer selfless service for the attainment of the set objectives.

Also speaking, a one time Protocol Officer , Kogi Government House, Mr. Emmanuel  Ekele who represented an illustrious son of the land, Admiral Jibrin O. Usman (rtd), tasked the Ukomu Igala Organization to continue to educate the rural populace on the prevailing socio- economic problem in the land.

Mr. Ekele who expressed concern about the situation in Igala land, advised the people to make sure that only those who contributed to the development of the land should be recognized.

He reminded the gathering of the contributions made by his Principal in Igala land, and therefore urged Igalas in the diaspora to assist in convincing those at home to reciprocate for development to thrive.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the Executive members of the Kaduna Chapter, the Chairman, Alhaji (Dr) Baba Ejiga affirmed their avowed commitment to working towards the well being of the people and the development of Igala land.

He thanked all those who contributed to the success of the event.
