Kaduna State Health Care Agency says it has evolved measures against the drop recently recorded in the implementation of the Routine Immunization program in the State.

The 71% recorded in December 2018 has now dropped to about 60%, a situation, the Agency said, was unacceptable.

Addressing Health correspondents in Kaduna on Friday, Deputy Director of the Agency, Hamza Ibrahim said in order to address the recorded backwardness, a traditional system had now been evolved.

These include, reactivation of committees at Ward and Community levels with the active participation of their leaderships to ensure adherence with Routine Immunization, environmental sanitation, proper use of treated mosquito nets , nutrition among others.

On the 255 renovated health facilities across the State, Hamza Ibrahim was optimistic that all the facilities would become fully operational by the third quarter of 2019.

The Deputy Director stated that a personnel head count had just been concluded by the Agency adding that very soon, the approved employment of health workers by the State government, would commence.

Proper placements and equitable distribution of staff and equipment, he said, would be carried out to avoid lopsidedness at facilities.

Hamza, alongside UNICEF Representative, Zanaib Abubakar commended the Media for the support given to the Agency so far, and called for sustenance.

Meeting the Press, such as that of today, he said, should be quarterly so as to collectively review the activities of the agency with a view to achieving the desired results.

To this end, a four member committee would be set up to actualize the concept.
