Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gombe state northeast of the country, Senator Usman Bayaro Nafada has conceded defeat and congratulated the winner, Inuwa Yahaya of the All Progresives Congress APC.
Nafada said at a news briefing in Gombe on Monday, that he was not considering going to court to challenge his defeat in the Saturday’s Gubernatorial contest.
Nafada said, “I am a politician, I have been in politics for the past twenty years and I have never seen such result, this is the first time I am seeing this type of result from election but I want to believe that this is from God.
“I am not going to court, that is not in my agenda but I don’t know what my party the PDP might want to do,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Governor- elect, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has said he is going to review programmes and projects of the Dankwambo’s Administration before building on them.
Inuwa who had contested in 2015 and lost, reveals that his Administration will not witch-hunt the past government or anybody, but would review all paperwork for abandon projects and programmes.
He said that his victory was made possible through his quest for equity, fairness and justice and that his APC government will ensure that was achieved in the state.
He also said the Administration will focus more on solving issues identified during his campaign in the rural areas. “I did not just campaign in local government areas (LGA and wards, I also visited several communities so we will focus on addressing issues we identified in the cause of our campaign.
The Governor -elect maintained that the 2019 general election will go down as the best and the most keenly contested elections in the history of the country.
He said his doors are opened to those who contested against him and willing to join him in taking Gombe state to the next level.
