Governor Nasir El-rufa’i of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, has reaffirmed his Administration’s Commitment to indigenity.
To this end, he said, “Kaduna is home to everyone”.
El-rufa’i was addressing Igala community in Kaduna on Monday as part of his Campaigns toward Saturday’s Gubernatorial Election in the State.
He told the people that the demands for State of origin in whatever form has no place in his Administration saying “the wrongs in the past are being corrected”.
El-rufa’i told the community that his Administration has three Igalas, including the Deputy Chief of Staff who had been his most confidants in all he does.
The Governor who refuted allegations of moves to islamize the State, said if he had such intention, he would have done so to the Deputy Chief of Staff who is a christian that have been together in the past 30 years.
Acknowledging what he called the unity of purpose being exemplified by the Igalas and as peaceful people, El-rufa’i assured that community leaders in the State would be involved in security maintenance.
“We will treat every community equally. In my life those who helped me are not Fulanis”, he explained.
The Governor assured the community of government readiness to provide lands for the building of mosques and churches as well as schools for the moral upbringing of children.
Earlier in their address of welcome, leaders of the community had commended the Governor for recognizing the people, hence the meeting.
