The nomination of a member of the House of Representatives, Sunday Marshall Katung as the Deputy Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Kaduna has been described as the right choice.
Addressing a news conference in Kaduna on Friday, Southern Kaduna Youth for Progress and Development said considering the nominee’s popularity, pedigree and vast experience in administration and politics ,the choice was no doubt a welcome development.
The President of the group, Danjuma Bello Sarki said that the many years spent by the nominee in the nation’s financial sector and as commissioner under various Administrations speak volumes of his successes.
Bello explained that the nominee’s tenure as commissioner witnessed reforms in the ministries, resulting in the increase in IGR and provision of basic facilities in rural communities.
With such vast experience, he said, Katung would in no small way assist in running a robust Executive arm of government in the State.
Bello noted that the nomination as the running mate of Isah Ashiru came when Kaduna was in dire need of unity, stability and purposeful leadership.
He therefore called for support to the party saying that it was the only sure way of restoring the lost glory and bring the desired dividends of democracy to the people.
Sunday Marshall Katung is currently representing Zangon Kataf and Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
