A beneficiary of the Bauchi State Women Empowerment Programme, Aishatu Ibrahim has said that the innovation by the Mohammed Abubakar led Administration has not only alleviated women in the State from poverty, but worthy of emulation by other States.
This success story, she said, would garner women’s support for the Governor, come 2019.
Aishatu, who was speaking with AFRICA PRIME NEWS on Sunday in Bauchi, Northeast of the country, said about 500 women benefited from the programme and urged the Administration to extend it beyond 2019 to enable more women to benefit.
She also commended the leadership style of the Governor and his wife, Hadiza Abubakar under her Pet Project, Bauchi Sustainable Women Economic Empowerment and Peace Initiative (B-SWEEP).
‘’We have worked and prayed fervently for positive change both at the state and the national levels and today we ’re happy having President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abubakar in Bauchi State formulating programmes that are improving our lives and the complementary projects of Her Excellency, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar going a long way in advancing the economy and alleviating poverty in the society.
“Hadiza Abubakar is also the Chairperson of the Northern Governor’s Wives Forum (NGWF) and Founder of an NGO, Bauchi Sustainable Women Economic Empowerment and Peace Initiative who has assisted hundreds of women in the state. All women in the state would benefit from the similar gesture as she promised to extend the projects to other parts of the state”, she said.
