Nigeria Police Arrests Dozens Of Armed Bandits In Zamfara

Zamfara State Police Command, in northwest Nigeria, says it has arrested 72 suspected armed bandits in the State who specialise in motor cycle theft.

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu, said the arrest followed massive intelligence led raid in some identified criminal hideouts in the state.

He said the command also during the raid which took place on 15th July, recovered 73 motorcycles from the suspects .

“In view of the activities of armed bandits that are using unregistered motorcycles to ferry kidnapped Victims to their hideouts. The Zamfara State Police Command has embarked on massive intelligence led raid in some identified criminal hideouts in the state”, he said.

The spokesman therefore called on members of the public who lost their motorcycles to criminals either by snatch or theft to come to the Police Command Headquarters for Verification to show  rightful ownership.
