The National Association of Kaduna State Students’ (NAKASS), has cried out over the non payment of students scholarship since the present Administration came to power.

As a result, a total of 73,632 students are said to be facing academic hardship due to lack of finance to pay their fees for tuition, accommodation, handouts, poor feeding as well as withdrawals.

In what looks like a “Save Our Souls resolution after its meeting in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria, the Union appealed to the government to address the payment of the scholarship with urgent attention to avoid confrontation.

The resolution endorsed by the Union’s President, Comr. Abdullahi Yahaya among other officials, however appreciates government reforms in the education sector, which it said, would serve as a legacy.

The union stated that the nonpayment of the scholarship had placed the officials before the students as if they were not doing anything despite all efforts by the leadership to have audiences with the appropriate authorities including the State Governor.

It reminded the authorities that students’ Bursary has been a means of immense support to the students of Kaduna State at various higher institutions of learning.

This, it added, has over the years served as a means of support towards the payment of tuition fees, accommodations, feeding, academic packages and also relief to parents in terms of financial assistance to Students.
