Army Rescues Hostages In Kaduna,…Recovers Trailer, Car

The Nigerian Army says troops deployed on Operation code named “IDON RAINI” on Saturday rescued 8 hostages along Maganda – Funtua road, Kaduna, North West of the country.

The hostages were earlier kidnapped along Maganda – Sofo Birnin Gwari road.

Those rescued, include three men, two women and three children, while items recovered from the bandits were One red Golf car, one trailer and two boxes of clothes belonging to one of the passengers.

A statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu explained  that  troops on patrol to Nachibi village within the axis also recovered a motorcycle abandoned by the bandits on sighting the troops, while at Maidaro village, troops encountered the bandits where they were rustling some cows.

Three members of vigilante, the statement said, however sustained gun shot wounds while one person was killed in action during the encounter. One motorcycle was recovered from the bandits. The statement reminded the general public to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement to the law enforcement agents
