Nigeria : NULGE Mobilizes Support For Kaduna Council Polls

The Nigerian Union of local government Employees is to cooperate with the Kaduna state government, northwest Nigeria to ensure the success and peaceful conduct of the local government elections scheduled for this Saturday.

The Chairman, of the newly constituted Caretaker Committee of the Union in Kaduna State, Comrade Rayyanu  Isayaku Turunku,  made the pledge while addressing newsmen after the inaugural meeting of the Committee.

Comrade Rayyanu said the Caretaker Committee is in full support of the government effort to hold the local government elections in view of its importance to grassroots development.

He advised members of the Union and all eligible voters in all the local government areas ofthe State to come out en mass to elect credible leaders who would spread dividends of democracy in all the nooks and crannies of the State.

Comrade Rayyanu assured members of the Union that the Caretaker Committee would work hard to address the numerous problems and hardship being experienced by the local government workers in the State and called for their support.
