The Agwom Adara in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna state, Northwest Nigeria, Maiwada Galadima has lauded the giant strides of El Rufa’i Administration, especially in rural transformation.
Receiving a team of journalists on tour of projects being executed by State Government on Thursday, the traditional ruler said his domain was being turned into an urban area as a result of the projects .
“You can see our roads in Kachia, we are becoming an urban area in Kachia. Our hospitals and schools are being transformed.
“If a group comes to inspect such project, I want to appreciate the initiative. I also want to commend the present government. We have great improvement,” he said.
He commended the journalists for deeming it fit to visit him, while charging them to always remain objectives in their reports.
“I want to appreciate your initiative of identifying with the traditional institution, that is why you are here.
“Maybe some of you, this is your first time, I wish you a peaceful stay. Engineer will take you round.
Earlier, Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Council, Dauda Idris Doka who led the team, told the traditional ruler that coming to Kachia was a blessing because since the tour commenced, the team had not met any traditional ruler.
He said the tour was to a inspect projects being executed by the present Administration in the State.
He praised the Agwom Adara for his humility and prayed God to give him wisdom to continue to reign peacefully.
Briefing the team, the project Surveyor and Coordinator of Farmtrac Nigeria Ltd, Marcus Saleh, said that the company which is into civil works, highway, agricultural projects was awarded 10km project Kachia township roads.
“We are also handling 10km in Sanga. Bypass 6km and township 4km. All the projects are surface dressed.
He explained that the new concept of retainership, is what they are working with, except for Laduga.
“We were added 19km of link roads in Laduga,” he said. They are also constructing 15km township roads in Kafanchan, he said.
On time frame for completion, he said that the onset of the rainy season, and compensation for buildings that would be demolished, is slowing them down.
