A female entrepreneur, Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa, on Thursday counseled women to be diligent and to develop their potential in business for progress.

Ezenwa, who is the President of Lelook Nigeria Ltd., gave the counsel on the sideline of the Nigerian Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE’s) 25th Anniversary in Abuja.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event had the theme: “Making the Difference in the Nation’s Entrepreneurship Space’.”

Ezenwa said every woman is an entrepreneur and must learn the basic personal development principles of life to succeed in the entrepreneurial space.

“In order to make a difference in the nation’s entrepreneurship space, firstly, there is the need for self-awareness whereby a woman discovers her gifts and understands her potential.

“Women must excavate their potential by developing their gifts and talents, thereafter, they can channel their gifting by serving the group of people yearning for them in the society.

“This can also be done through partnership and support networks which can help their business to grow,’’ she said.

Ezenwa, who is a founding member of NAWE, urged women to develop productive minds, saying that spending up to N500,000 on a hand bag, but not investing in profitable ventures was unproductive.

She advised women entrepreneurs to learn the language of business and dwell on professionalism and excellence through training and capacity building.

The expert cautioned entrepreneurs never to hire employees they could not dismiss.

“Every human can be productive with adequate and appropriate training despite gender, disability or any other challenge,’’ she said, adding that perseverance and sacrifice were key for success in any business. (NAN)
