Adalci, an Advocacy group of All Progressives Congress in Gombe state, northeast of the country has commenced sensitization and town hall meetings across the state on the forthcoming party congresses scheduled for May 2018
Leader of the group and former gubernatorial aspirant, Abubakar Aliyu urged the members not to allow themselves to be used and sold out by selfish politicians who did not have interest of the APC at heart saying that the party is poised to having credible leaders.
Abubakar Aliyu who was speaking with Journalists after the town hall meeting and sensitization campaign in Gombe, commended the party for following the constitution of the party to conduct the congress at all levels in May 2018.
“We hope that neutral committee will be set at all levels to conduct congresses so that there will be justice to all members of the party, even though the time table has been released and very close, the Adalci Advocacy forum insist that constitutional provision should be strictly adhered to in the conduct of the congress as directed by the NEC.
“We also advise that the congress should be conducted in compliance with the rules and regulations of the party as it is in the constitution. It is not just to replace a vacancy as directed by the letter of the National Secretary, which he sent to INEC that in attempt to conduct any congress not in compliance with our constitution and directed by the NEC that will not be accepted by the members of the party.
Aliyu said that the Congress committee should start selling aspiration forms to interested party members and to provide it to all members of the party and treat them fairly including the ongoing EX-CO who are interested in contesting during the congress.
Aliyu described the 2019 election as a project of hope which hinges on unity and progress of the party to win the general election.
