At last, the Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar on Friday directed security agencies to shoot at sight any bandit carrying arms.

Yari gave the order when he led members of the state executive council on a condolence visit to the Emir of Anka over the armed bandit attacks in Bawar Daji village in Anka local government area where over 30 people where killed and several others injured.

The Governor warned that the laws of the country allow only security personnel to carry arms and that  any other  person who is not a member of the security agencies cannot carry arms.

“It is criminal for any person who is not a security personnel to carry arms, therefore I have ordered the security agencies in the state to shoot at sight any person who carries AK 47 or any other weapons in the bush be him Fulani, Hausa or any tribe. The bandits have wasted too much of lives in the state and therefore they too do not deserve to be alive,” he said.

Yari threatens  to remove and depose any District or village Head in whose domain harbours the armed bandits.

He also added that the state government was going to disband communities sharing border with bandit camps.

Earlier, the Emir of Anka, Attahiru Ahmad blamed the surge of the armed bandits in the society on injustice on the parts of the judiciary and the Police.

“How do you explain a situation where a police officer will be the person who will be the one looking for a person to bail a criminal and also a judge freeing a suspected criminal before the conclusion of the case,” he said.

Others who were at the  Emir’s palace to condole the people of the Emirate over the  killings included , the GOC 7 Division, Sokoto,  all heads of  security agencies in Zamfara state as well as members of the National and State Assemblies..

AFRICA PRIME NEWS reports that the Bawar Daji killings on Wednesday came just one week after the visit of President Buhari to Zamfara State.
