Abuja (Nigeria)- A budget Expert, Benjamin Yunana Maigari has said that the Community Town Hall meeting on budget organized by the Kaduna state government, Northwest of the country runs contrary to the intended objectives.
He noted that people who knew nothing were always invited, while those even charged with the responsibility of organizing it, also lacked knowledge in budget matters thereby making it to look like a jamboree.
Maigari was speaking in Abuja on Thursday at the sideline of a 5- day workshop on Kaduna State budget Tracking building capacity
Describing budget as a technical issue, the Expert said technocrats should be given enough time to study the document which should also be made participatory and a round table.
Maigari however lauded the pace set by the present Administration by providing an open budget for the state.
He advised that community needs should always be captured in the budget, hence the need for Government to go to the grassroot before undertaken budgets.
On his political ambition, Benjamin Yunana Maigari who hails from Kajuru Local Government Area of the state, said he had already shown his interest to his people and his party, APC to contest the chairmanship of the local government.
Commenting on the intra party crises, the Aspirant said he does not believe it as crisis rather challenges arising from selfish and interest.
“When we get to the river, we will all cross it because we all have the interest of the party at heart, ” he said.
On his dream for the Local government, Maigari described Kajuru as an agrarian society and rural local government which needs an enhanced productivity..
The Aspirant said he would like to see that the natural endowed resource which is agriculture was fully tapped through mechanized farming with the provision of fertilizers and access roads to enable farmers transport their produce.
Education and security, he assured, would also be placed on the front burners of the Local government administration .
