Gombe (Nigeria) – United Nation Children Fund (UNICEF) is to enhance nutritional value, education and other childhood development in Nigeria.
Country representatives of UNICEF, Mohammed Malick Fall disclosed this in Gombe when he visited the State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo
He said UNICEF which is an international organisation , is working tirelessly in ensuring that lack of nutritional value and education among children, are checked.
According to him, children are being neglected in society as attention is not given to them to strive, adding that children are success of any society.
He appreciated Governor Dankwambo for his partnership with UNICEF which he said has shown leadership quality adding that the government meant well for the people of the state.
While commending the governor, Fall appealed to him not to hesitate in supporting UNICEF and its programme whenever the need arises.
Responding, Governor Dankwambo who was overwhelmed with the visit promised to do everything possible in ensuring that his partnership with UNICEF is sustained.
He assured that his government will continue to work hard in ensuring that programme carried out by UNICEF is adequately protected.
The Governor called on parents to always take proper care of their children by providing them foods to guide against malnutrition ,assuring that government is doing its best to see that schools across the state are put in good shape for proper learning.
