Gombe (Nigeria) – Cooperative Investment and Credit Society Limited of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State, northeast of the country is to build 302 housing units to enhance and sustain the welfare of its members.
The State Commandant, Altine Sani Umar disclosed this while speaking during the foundation laying ceremony of the housing units at 15km along Bauchi road, Gombe on Thursday.
The state Commandant who was represented by her Assistant, Mu’azu Muhammed said that the Commandant General established the Cooperative Societies as pet project across the Corps formations to enhance and sustain welfare of its personnel.
“This Cooperative society contributed immensely to the agricultural sector of the State last farming season through the supplied of 60 tonnes of organic fertilizer at an affordable rate of 4,700 Naira per bag to the personnel
“We hope to sustain it you will agree with me in the world of revolution of agricultural produce the world is shifting from chemical based produce to the original God intended purposes for humanities which does not have health challenges.
Also speaking, the State Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo who was represented by his Deputy, Charles Ayu Iliya said that the state NSCDC Staff Cooperative Investment and Credit Society Limited is one of the most outstanding cooperatives in the country
He therefore praised the command for its commitment at ensuring the realisation of objectives of the Cooperative society, especially, the housing estate.
In a remark, the Chairman of the Cooperative society, Stephen Moses, said 200 are two bedroom bungalows while 102 are three bedroom bungalows.
He said the project is in conjunction with Sparrow Engineering Concept under Mortgage agreement to be 80 percent financed by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
