Abuja (Nigeria) – The Igbo Community Assembly in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja  has conferred on Innocent Ihiene Ochiabutor the traditional title of Eze Igbo 11 of Karshi, FCT Abuja.

This is in recognition of his leadership qualities among the Igbos in the area where he had served while  in the civil service.

The Royal Father of the Day ,Eze Nwosu Ibe, Eze Igbo 1 of Abuja, who was represented by Eze Odo George Okeke of Gwagwalada in the FCT, urged the Igbos in Karshi and elsewhere to live in peace with one another.

Okeke, who commended the Igbos in that axis over the unity and maturity they exhibited even when there were misunderstandings  among them, enjoined them to maintain the tempo even after the coronation ceremony so that peace could reign consistently within them and their host community.

The ceremony also featured the installation of Onowu and the cabinet as well as conferment of chieftaincy titles on deserving sons of Karshi community officiated by Eze Okeke of Gwagwalada Area Council of FCT.

Responding after the conferment, Eze Igbo 11 of Karshi, Innocent Ochiabutor thanked God and the people of the community for their support in various ways that made the coronation ceremony a success.

Ochiabutor pledged to be a good representative of his people with the help of God, maintaining that the Igbo in Karshi community will continue to reciprocate the love shown to them by the host community.

Speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Osondu Charles, Eze –udo Orozo in Abuja advised the Igbos in Karshi to work in harmony with the new Eze Igbo 11 and the people of the host community, saying that they should always stand for peace and progress of the area at all times.

Charles explained that the coronation ceremony was meant to showcase the real Igbo tradition through chieftaincy titles, stressing that, although there was rancour among the Igbos in Karshi community before, the ceremony would  definitely lay to rest all the tussles.

He appreciated the fatherly roles played by the chairman of the planning committee of the event,.Ndukwu Lawrence especially during the time of trial and trouble among the Igbo brothers in the community, adding that the roles of the Emirate Council of Karshi community cannot be underestimated.

The spiritual Father of the Day, Bishop Yitzhar Roberts, who is the founder of Camp David Ministries worldwide, was represented by Pastor Oche. He prayed and ordained the newly installed Eze Igbo 11 of Karshi, Innocent Ochiabutor after he was crowded as Eze for God to lead him.
