57 Independence: Leaders Have Betrayed Nigerians — Rev. Digga

By Amos Tauna

A Senior Pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Kaduna, northern Nigeria, Rev. Ishaya Digga, has observed that 57 years after Nigeria’s independence, the major challenge is betrayal on part of the leadership to citizens.

He noted that 57 years after the country’s independence, there has not been any head way to its numerous challenges, adding, “lt is a shameful thing that all these years of liberation from the colonial masters, we are unable to find our feet as a nation with different agitations from all parts of the country.”

Speaking on the topic, “The game of the destroyer will end one day”, Digga took his scriptural reading from Isaiah chapter 33: verses 1-2, said that evil done by those destroying the fortune of the country would themselves be destroyed one day.

He enjoined Nigerians to measure their lives of what they have done so far, adding that it was better for every living soul in the country to seek for forgiveness before meeting the Supreme God that will pass judgment on every soul according to individual’s way of life on earth.

He observed that the month of October should be a month of self examination and for Nigerians to better make their lives right before meeting God Almighty for judgment.

Rev. Digga noted that the present generation is living without the fear of God, hence there are so many atrocities in all nooks and crannies of the country while people betray one another for their selfish desires.

He assured that the evil that people do to other people will be done to them and enjoined Nigerians to treat their brothers with the same fairness they will demand for themselves.

He lamented that with 2019 fast approaching, politicians have begun all kinds of scheming, in order to win elections only to betray the electorate at the end of the day.
