The family of a missing Police officer, Inspector Felix Yohana, has called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, as well as the civil society groups to probe the mysterious disappearance of their son.
The family in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna demanded that the Police should come out clearly to tell the family if their son is still alive or dead, saying, the police has not visited nor release any official statement to the family.
Younger brother of the missing officer, Ayuba Yohana, wondered why his brother was missing, but his rifle was not.
According to the statement, “Following information on a criminal hideout in Galadimawa village along Zaria-Birnin Gwari road last week, a Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), went to recover arms that were where we learnt Inspector Felix Yohana went missing.
“The inspector and the informant were said to have gone missing at the Ruga Fulani where the arms were believed to have been kept and the police are yet to find them, funny enough, the police recovered his gun.”
The statement explained that CSP Sani Bashir, the officer in charge of operation broke the sad news that their son was shot dead, without presenting his corpse to the family last Thursday, July 13, 2017.
“One will begin to ask some questions, has Nigeria Police lost its focus since there is no any official statement, or a visit to the family from the police as the family waits in pains.”
The younger brother of the missing officer according to the statement made several attempts to know the true picture of his brother’s whereabouts from the police but to no avail, hence calling on relevant agencies to come to their aid.
A source revealed that a hardened criminal arrested sometimes ago let them to were the arms are kept, escaped that same day and Inspector Felix Yohana was said to have been killed and his body yet to be found.
As of the time of filing this report, the Assistant Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yakubu Sabo, said he has just resume the position over the weekend as such he don’t have any information regarding the case.
