Nigeria: INEC Registers 13,880 Voters In Gombe State

Gombe (Nigeria) — The Independent National Electoral Commission says it has so far registered 13,880 people in three months in Gombe state.

 

State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Umar Ibrahim disclosed this at press briefing in Gombe on Tuesday.

 

He said the new voters, including 9156 males and 4, 724 females were captured, which represents 65.97 percent and 34.03 percent respectively since the commencement of the exercise.

 

Mr. Ibrahim disclosed that the commission had received 276 applications from registered voters seeking transfer to new locations from within and outside the state and 164 have been approved.

 

“For replacement of lost, damaged or defaced PVCs 2,304 people have so far applied by filling appropriate forms at the CVR centres

 

“A total of 50,203 uncollected PVCs in the state and 138 PVCs have been distributed since 27 April 2017”, he said.

 

He added that six new registration centres had been added to the state’s 12 centres in the 11 local government areas to ease the registration process.
