Nigerian Housing Loans Board Builds Houses For Government Workers

Kaduna (Nigeria) – Nigeria says it has completed 1,350 houses as part of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) programme designed by Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita.

Executive Secretary of the Federal Government Housing Loans Board, Hannatu Adamu-Fika, said the FISH programme was to address the issue of housing for federal civil servants and motivate them for better performance and provide federal civil servants with better housing since they are the least paid.

She said the fish programme has 20,000 registered members and is set to build 3,000 houses for members, and commended members for taking part in the programme.

Fika also urged Heads of Human Resources in Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the country to allow their workers take part in the fish programme.

Over 23,000 Nigerian workers had registered as members of the FISH Cooperative Society Limited.
