Over 21 Thousand Dollars Demanded In Ransom Of Kidnapped Lawmaker In Northern Nigeria

imageKaduna (Nigeria) — Kidnappers of the Member representing Tudun Wada Constituency in Kaduna State House of Assembly, have demanded N70 million Naira (over $21,400) from his family to release the victim.

Chairman House Committee on Education, Ibrahim Samaila, was allegedly kidnapped Tuesday in Abakpa community of Kaduna.

Eye witness say, “the kidnappers came in a Sienna Car and within few seconds their other gang joined them and whisked the lawmaker away.”

The kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons, shot a pure water distributing van which was passing-by, thinking that, he wanted to block them.”

The kidnappers were also said to have threatened the family not to involve police in the matter.

A family source said, the abductors made the lawmaker to speak with his wife.

Kaduna State Police Command Spokesman, ASP Aliyu Usman confirmed the incident, saying, the technical and anti-kidnapping squad of the command were already on the trail of the kidnappers.
