Kaduna (Nigeria) — A Non Governmental Organisation, Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO) says it is embarking on social and economic development and awareness against corruption, social degeneration to compliment President Muhammadu Buhari’s effort.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Lawal Bawa who made this known to newsmen shortly after its BoT meeting in Kaduna, said the group is out to support Buhari to achieve his missions.
Bawa said the BoT meeting which was the maiden, was to allow the group to review and strategize towards actualization of President Buhari’s aspirations.
According to him, “What necessitated this meeting since after the election is the need to sit and look at BYO holistically, so that we will create a roadmap that will enable us to achieve the aims and objectives, including setting goals to embark on social and economic development and drive awareness against corruption and social degeneration.
“The urgency of this maiden meeting is to review our past, to hear how the BoT and NEC have actualised the responsibilities and duties entrusted on them and for the Board to strategize and plan for the future. This means that the BoT must make important decisions and resolutions towards the realization of BYO core values of promoting the ideologies, views and aspirations of President Muhammadu Buhari and support him to promote one Nigeria, our dignity and our future. The commitment to such values and the Grand Patron’s Change Mantra inform the entity call BYO. It is important for BYO to serve as a communication tool of Mr. President’s policies to the larger society.
“Having said this, the most important task of this Board is to steer the NEC actions, activities and policies in a manner that will ensure the meeting of the missions and visions set out for BYO in the long term, as to generate value for the nation so that the livelihood expectations of the citizens can be actualized,” Bawa said.
