Abuja (Nigeria) – In a determined effort to chart the way forward on effective crisis communication in the Nigeria, the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) with the support of Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP) will host a 3-day Seminar on Media Engagement in Crisis Situation for public relations and information officers of the Nigerian military, security and response agencies.
The seminar which is slated for 26-28 April, 2016 at Sandralia Hotel, Abuja has as its theme, “Enhancing the Capacity of Public Relations and Information Officers in Addressing Crisis Situations”.
The objective of the seminar is to partner with key stakeholders in the military, security and response agencies in the country to develop effective, efficient and responsive cadre of public relations and information officers who will be better equipped to carry out the onerous responsibility of managing sensitive crisis information most professionally.
The Honorable Minister of Defence, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali will declare the programme open. Expected to participate in the seminar are public relations and Information Officers from the Defence Headquarters, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, National Intelligence Agency, Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Prisons Service, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Service Commission, Federal Fire Service, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences commission, Office of National security Adviser, among others.
