Kaduna (Nigeria) — A new Commissioner of Police has been posted to Kaduna State. He is Adamu Ibrahim.
Mr. Ibrahim hails from Zamfara State. He holds a Bacherlors Degree in Geography from the University of Sokoto and a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
A statement by the Police spokesman in Kaduna, DSP Abubakar Zubairu says, the new Commissioner has taken over the mantle of leadership at the Command Friday.
Mr. Ibrahim joined the police as a cadet ASP in 1986 and has served in various capacities including Deputy Force Secretary at the Force Headquarters – 2013, as well as Commissioner of Police Abia State – 2014.
He has attended various professional courses within and outside Nigeria and is a Fellow of National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies Kaur-Jos.
Before his posting to Kaduna he was Commissioner of Police Admin, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters Abuja.
This may not be unconnected with efforts of the Police to overcome security challenges in the area.
Kaduna had recently faced security challenges including kidnap of three pastors and senior military officer.
The army officer Col. Saimaila Inuwa and one of the clergies, Rev. Iliya Anto died in the hands of the kidnappers.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Ballah Nasarawa had been asked to relocate to Kaduna to ensure success in the operations.
