Nigeria Fixes Kaduna – Abuja Road That Killed Minister

Kaduna (Nigeria) — Nigeria has commenced the repair of road that killed one of its Minister few weeks ago.

The Kaduna-Abuja road, one of the busiest road in the country is full of potholes, demanding attention, but was ignored, until it killed the minister.

Agency responsible for the repair has been given up to end of march to cover all the potholes on the road

Chief Maintenance Officer of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Sani Abdulkadir said “We are currently working at the Kaduna-Abuja road to ensure that there will be no critical potholes by the end of March.

“Our headquarters in Abuja have provided necessary logistics and support to make it pothole free before the end of the month.

He said the agency wants the road pothole free so as to reduce the rate of crashes along the road.

“This gesture is to make the road safer and less prone to accidents.

“We want to ensure safe driving by Nigerians, this is one of the cardinal responsibilities of FERMA and I believe, we are up to that task.

“We have just started and I believe we will definately work on other roads.

According to him, the Kaduna sector office have mobilised all necessary personnel and equipment to ensure that a qualitative work is done on site.

He further advised motorist to drive carefully and pay attention to all caution signs to avoid uncessary accidents.

“Some motorist come with speed without observing the caution signs and before you know it, they cause accidents on the road.”
