Kaduna (Nigeria) — A group, Concern Citizen of Kaduna State, has warned the Senator Representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, and his counterpart, the Senator Representing Southern Kaduna, Danjuma La’ah, to desist from attacking, or criticising Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State, northwest nigeria over his policies.
According to them, Governor El-Rufai’s policies are people oriented.
Leader of the group, Adamu Barde Abubakar Kagarko, in a statement made available to newsmen regrets that “because of political sentiments these two Senators could not see this policy as a good development, especially towards restoring the lost glory of primary education in the state.”
The statement in parts say, “I wish to draw the attention of the good the people of Kaduna State to the unnecessary and mischievous attacks on the good policies of our Governor and his Deputy, especially his free school feeding.”
It says, Senator La’ah has never supported any policy of the state government for the purpose of synergy, to better the life of good people of the Southern Kaduna.
“Senator La’ah was not honest enough to tell his audience that 60% of the funding of the feeding programme is coming from the Federal Government. Unknown to him and many other critics, the policy is helping in no small measures in reducing drastically street hawking, begging, theft and many other menaces.” He said.
The statement also attributes Senator Shehu Sani’s attacks on El-Rufai’s policies to his (Sani’s) ambition of contesting for Governorship in 2019, adding that, Sani is misrepresenting the good people of Kaduna Central with his one-sided style of representation.
It advises Sani to focus on the mandate given to him by the people, instead of engaging in anti-party activities by hosting PDP members from Southern Kaduna, with view to incite them against El-Rufai’s administration.
According to the statement, recently Sani shared analogue transistor radios in his constituency and only his followers from Tudu-Wada, Rigasa, Unguwan Sarki and some few areas within the metropolis, and sidelined people from Sabon-Tasha, kajuru, Gonin-Gora and other areas within his constituency, saying that one imagines his kind of gospel of love for the people of Southern Kaduna.
“We want to state categorically, that those attacking the good policies of this Government are either being mischievous or are doing so for the purpose of scoring cheap political points.”
