Nigeria: New Leader Emerges For Journalists In Kaduna

Kaduna (Nigeria) — Garba Muhammad of Newswatch Magazine has won election to become Chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council.

Garba polled 142 votes to defeat two other contestants vying for same position.

Other contestants for the chairmanship position were, Ismail Omipidan of The Sun Newspapers and Luka Biniyat of Vanguard newspapers.

Ismail Omipidan got 120 votes, while Luka Binniyat got 75 votes.

The new leadership will be sworn-in for a three year tenure.
