Kaduna (Nigeria) – Newly Sworn-in Governor of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has condemned the attack on the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, by some youths in the state.
Some angry youths had on Friday attacked the Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris, alongside other dignitaries at the venue of El-Rufai’s inauguration.
Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a statement shortly after the inauguration.
“A vital part of change is respect for institutions and a commitment to using only lawful and peaceful means to express grievance, discontent or dissent.
“Even in such instances, there can be no justification for any attempt to inflict embarrassment or cause disorder in the state,” he said.
El-Rufai further thanked the people of the state for the massive turn out during his swearing-in ceremony at the Murtala Square.
He added that “I look forward to the continued support of the people as the new government settles down.
He pledged to do his utmost to deliver good governance”. The statement said
