Nigerian Guber Polls: Governor Yero Wins Polling Unit

The immediate past Governor of Kaduna state, Northwest Nigeria , Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has declared his intention under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP to go back to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House ( Govt House ) Kaduna which he vacated in 2015. Yero who is eyeing his former seat, said his decision was informed by the genuine concern of the People and the numerous calls to contest. The Gubernatorial Aspirant told top officials of the party on Monday in Kaduna that he had consulted widely and had been given the nod to aspire to rescue the State On why the immediate past Governor wants to come back, Yero observed that the state under the El-Rufai led administration has witnessed series of half - hearted trial of and errors that have disastrous consequences on the people of the state. He lamented that the state government no longer cares about the primary purpose of her existence of providing security of lives and property and the welfare of the people. Yero also lamented that lives and property were being lost daily to the activities of armed banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery and thuggery .

Kaduna (Nigeria) – Governor of Kaduna State Northwest Nigeria, Muktar Ramalan Yero has won his polling unit at the just concluded governorship polls in the state.

The governor defeated his rival of the All progressive congress, Malam Nasir El-Rufai.

The result released at the kwangira, kaura ward polling unit showed that the governor polled 311 while APC polled 56 votes.

Earlier, the governor called on all residents of the State to shun violence and remain peaceful throughout the voting process.

Yero described the peaceful electioneering process in the state as a demonstration of the democratic maturity of the people.

“we are happy that majority of our people have embraced democracy as preferred system of governance and we shall continue to encourage them through responsible leadership.”

Yero said with the peaceful conduct of the 2015 general elections Nigeria has clearly crossed the stage of irreversible democratic evolution.

” we hope to continue to improve on all identified lapses in order to become a model for other African countries.

”Governor reiterated his call on people in the state to continue to forge greater unity in moving the state forward irrespective of perceived differences,” he said.
