Nigerian Soldiers Kill Shi’te Member, Injure Two in Kaduna

Kaduna (Nigeria) – Nigerian Soldiers have allegedly killed a member of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (Shi’te) and injured two others in Kaduna North-West Nigeria.

The incident occurred Monday around 5:15pm, in Zango road, Tudun Wada, near the residence of the sect leader – it threw residents of the area into confusion as people ran for safety.

The deceased Umar Haruna died on the spot after been shot on the chest.

It was gathered that the soldiers went to the area in a white Toyota Hilux armed with soldiers – no reason was given for the soldiers visit to the area.

An eye witness said trouble began after the soldiers came to the area and tried to pass through an iron barricade installed on the road by members of the sect.

“When they arrived in their vehicle they tried to past through the iron used to block the road for security reason since it’s was the street housing our leader in the state.

“Our member who they met outside told them the road is closed but they still went in after they discovered they couldn’t pass through with their vehicle.

They made a u-turn and came to arrest the boy,” a resident told Africa Prime News.

It was gathered that the soldiers forced the boy into their vehicle but his colleagues in the area surrounded the soldiers demanding his released.

When the solders realized the danger, they released the boy but open fire on the crowd.

” The deceased was hit on the chest and died on the spot. The remaining two people were rushed to a nearby hospital,” he said

It was gathered that the soldiers left the area immediately after shooting the victims.

As at the time of filing this report, Army Division spokesman, Colonel Yusuf Abdul could not be reached as he didn’t pick his calls.
