Nigeria: Ensure Immediate Release Of Kidnapped Students -PTAN Tasks KDSG

National President, Parents Teacher Association of Nigeria, PTAN Alhaji Haruna Danjuma has condemned in strong terms, the recent kidnap of secondary school students in Awon community of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna, Alhaji Haruna tasked the state government to redouble its effort towards rescuing all the students without delay .

He also stressed the need for both federal and state governments to secure all the primary and secondary schools across the the country, against terrorism, banditry and kidnapping for ransom that are negating the education of children

The Association reminded Mr President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all security chiefs of the remaining kidnapped students of yawuri Kebbi state, Chibok in Borno, and those of kaduna State) who are still in the hands of bandits and called for their immediate release to enable them join their families.

He expressed worries over the negative effects of banditry and kidnapping for ransom affecting tertiary, primary and secondary schools especially in northern part of Nigerian, hence the need for all stake holders to join hands towards proffering solutions to the menace.

He also wants State and federal governments to promote e-learning in schools as well as encouraging government and wealthy individuals, traditional leaders religious bodies and para military to ensure that adequate security is deployed to all schools.

“We as parents still remind government on the need to secure the release of all our students across the north that are in captivity

We are still calling on government to end banditry and kidnapping threatening peace instability in the country

“We commend the effort of our gallant Nigerian security forces towards their marvelous contributions restoring peace in North East and North West

“We equally commend the effort of the Ministry of education towards boosting the quality standards of education in the country at large”.
