Agriculture: APPEALS embarks on Pre-implementation Support Mission To  Project States

The National Coordinating Office (NCO) of Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement, And Livelihood Improvement Support Project (APPEALS) Abuja this week embarked on a Pre-Implementation support mission to six participating states of the project .
 The objective of the mission is to review the implementation progress across all project components to make sure that the project is on track to achieve its development objectives.
The Narional Coordinator  of the project, Mohammed Sani Jobdi who spoke at the flag-off of the mission in Kaduna, said that the mission would provide implementation support in all areas of critical concern and agree with States on the required actions and activities that would further facilitate achievement of the project development objectives.
In her address of welcome, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hajiya Halima said the State would continue to give APPEALS project all the support and policy guidance necessary to succeed.
She urged for the speedy implementation of Women and Youth Empowerment Progamme (WYEB) already screened and trained  to cushion the effect of the COVID 19 pandemic which impacted the economy, agriculture, and project implementation last year.
In his vote of thanks, the Kaduna State Project Coordinator, Dr. Yahaya Aminu appreciates  the support of the state government and the National Coordination Office Abuja in the implementation of the project.
Two teams are drawn from National Coordinating Office  Abuja, representatives from the Federal Ministries of Agriculture, Finance, and Project Coordinating Unit (PCU), and State representatives from Lagos and Enugu are in the mission in Kaduna.
The mission is in preparation for the forthcoming Mid-Term Review of the APPEALS Project declared disbursement effective in May 2018
