At Last, Kaduna Correctional Centre Accepts EFCC Convict

The Kaduna State Medium Security Custodial Centre, Northwest Nigeria, on Friday, June 5, 2020 accepted, Sadiq Mustapha a convict who was initial rejected by the Centre.
The convict was taken to the centre by operatives of the EFCC on May 20, 2020 but was not received by the official on duty as part of several measures put in place then, to protect inmates from contacting the Corona Virus Pandemic as was confirmed by the Controller of Kaduna Correctional Service, Sanusi Danmusa.
Sadiq Mustapha has so far spent fourteen (14) days at the EFCC custody before he was taken back to the Correctional Centre.
His acceptance came as a result of the re-opening of the custodial centre for admission of inmates in a statement issued by the Controller General of Correctional Services, Ja’afaru Ahmed on 3rd June, 2020 saying the action is necessary to enhance access to justice and also to facilitate the administration of criminal justice in the country.
It will be recalled, that the anti graft agency secured a seven-year prison term of Sadiq Mustapha without an option of fine before Justice Mallong Petter of the Federal High Court, Kaduna for obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N6,100,000 ( six million, one hundred thousand naira) and operating illegal Bureau de change.
