Nigeria: Nasarawa Govt. Gives Journalists Pat On The Back

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Comrade Dogo Shammah has commended journalists in the State for the professional excellence demonstrated since the present Administration assumed office.

Shammah, in an exclusive interview in Lafia, the State capital,  noted  that Journalists in the State have not only been portraying the administration positively, but their reportage  was a true reflection of Journalism based on ethical values which have to do with precision and fairness .

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in the State,  Shammah  described Governor Abdullahi Sule’s Administration as media friendly built on trust and openness.

 He re-emphasized Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of media practitioners in the State for optimum result.

 “Our doors as Government, are open for constructive criticism as far as Journalism practice is concern”.

“I really appreciate my colleagues for applying ethical values and norms of objective reporting

” As your ambassador, I sincerely hail you all for your utmost support”, he said.

 The Commissioner however advised those in the field to engage in investigative Journalism, saying  this would give them ample opportunities to unravel facts.

 Shammah also appealed to the people of Nasarawa State to support programmes of Government that have direct impact on the lives of the people.

 The Commissioner called on Fulani pastoralists and farmers in the State to always reach an agreement instead of indulging in wanton disturbance, especially during the wet season.
