Nigeria, South Africa Exchange Expertise On Water Management.

Nigerian officials  are meeting  with their counterparts in South Africa to brainstorm on  water management.

The meeting, which got underway on Tuesday, follows the request from the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC) to undertake a technical study tour of South Africa to share water regulatory best practices.

Both countries will exchange water governance strategies between them.

Issues discussed at Tuesday’s meeting included Water Tribunal processes, water use licence registration and revenue collection (WARMS) and the water billing system processes.

Further to Tuesday’s engagement, the Department  of Water and Sanitation will on Wednesday hosts their visitors at the Vaal Dam in Deneysville, Free State, as part of a media tour.

The meeting ends on Thursday.
